I'm off to Rye Meads Nature Reserve for the day today, where I believe a brood of kingfisher chicks have just hatched! Hoping to get some photos of them!! :D And the weather doesn't look too bad.....keep your fingers crossed for me!

Well....no kingfishers, no otters, no voles....nothing at all really! :( I've never been to a place where so little was going on!
Some peeps in a hide said thay'd seen a kingfisher 5 minutes before we arrived, but it never appeared again while we were there.
We heard loads of birds singing, but rarely saw them. Only two butterflies! No squirrels even. A couple of dragonflies, but considering it was full of ponds, there should have been hundreds! :? Very odd.
But at least it didn't rain! :D

What a shame, still it must have been a nice place to visit

Yes it was a nice place to visit - it was lovely by the River Stort too, Viv! :)

The first thing we came across, even before we got there, was this :D It was a gorgeous little building!!

I took a few shots...a Skipper butterfly, a cormorant, and some silly ducks!

I would appreciate comments from those of you who are Flickr-ers! 8)
