I'll be watching out for anything and be doing a bit of research before I go. I guess he would have been on a different beach and I don't know much about POW's most of ours seemed to have been slaughtered on the beach but I know there were many, many British troops also Indian.

As I said earlier I was going to book a coach holiday, well I have booked an 8 day holiday to Scotland a month after our cruise.

anecdote - I was cleaning the roof terrace & noticed what appeared to be mouse droppings, then noticed straw poking out from the (what d'you call it - fascia ? soffets?) wood under the roof, - like a nest. Nige prised the bit of wood off. I wish I had a picture of that moment. As the wood came down, he got showered in an avalanche of poo !! - we swept up 1/2 a carrier bag full of it!! No signs of life up there, so that night we did an hours stake-out on the roof terrace, but heard & saw nothing....except,,,, fresh droppings appeared on the wall. a mystery. Next evening nothing more so Nige nailed the bit of wood back & as he started hammering, 3 bats flew out of the roof!! (he nearly fell off the stepladder!). So, not mouse poo but bat poo.

Off to Exeter tomorrow for 4 days over the bank hol. Apparently we're going to have decent weather....I think.

Anyone doing anything fun over the hol?

I just don't know :? this bank holiday just seems to have appeared from no-where.

All our days are the equivalent of bank holidays 8)

Have a good time in Exeter, Thais.

I'm still getting over the second relapse of my cold  It came, went away and then came back again, went away and then REALLY came back with a vengeance putting me in bed for two days. Now my nose has slowed to a walk and my cough is getting less and I hope this time I can get rid of it all together.

Been taking loads of Vit C, Regular doses of Calendula Tincture, even more frequent doses of Potters Cough Remover, Olbas Oil Pastilles (nearly bought the company  ) and the odd Tissue Salt.

I don't like being poorly :( .

I had a lovely time in Exeter. The weather was fabulous, and I only saw the first spot of rain as I got off the bus 2 minutes from my house yesterday! (Then it tipped down!)

I did a lot of walking (and slept like a log every night). Totnes (pronounced Totnéss, I discovered) is a very cute town - I bought some amethyst earrings there, and a little Tibetan prayer wheel with a prayer in it. Loads of things I could have bought in the market, but couldn't possibly have brought home with me!

Topsham is a village about 20 minutes away from Exeter, very idyllic etc beside the river...had a nice lunch there. There's also a big antiques centre that we wandered around, & I bought a little carved wooden owl. :)

My Freedom Pass came in very handy  god bless Boris Johnson!
