Have any of you made plans for a '09 holiday yet? Somewhere exciting? Let us know! :)

I haven't booked anything up; going to Exeter for Whitsun weekend though, to stay with an old friend whom I haven't seen in years. I got £1 funfares each way!! Image

We hope to spend a week in the Lake District (before going to the National Conference of Cancer Support Groups in Manchester in July).

We are going to Strasbourg for a week in October with our U3A to see the European Parliament building.

Apart from that nothing else ..................... yet! :)

Arfa you beat me to it! :D
45 - 60 mins from Exeter, depending on the traffic. When's Whitsun, is that the late May Bank hol?
Except I know too much about thais, I'd have to do a handreading in reverse eg "I know you have an interest in gardening, nature, crystals,... so I expect the lower phalanx of your middle finger is well developed" (edit - actually that applies to most or all people active on this forum, are you all inspecting your middle fingers?!) :lol!:

No prizes for guessing where I'm going on holiday! yep. Turkey. We're off in a couple of weeks, woohoo! for 17 days, and again in Sept.

Not sure, was going to go on a cruise but with Brian sleeping most afternoons and nearly all evening don't think it would be a good idea. 4 days booked near Bideford in May and thats about it for this year.

Heart buried at Gallipoli.

There is no two countries with a bond such as Australia and New Zealand. The carnage and the casualties were horrendous- on both sides. Every town, village small settlement in NZ has a memorial as everyone was touched in some way by Gallipoli. It's interesting that on ANZAC Day(25th April), dawn parades are getting bigger and bigger, even as the old soldiers pass away.
I am pleased to have the opportunity to visit the site.

Well we have our cruise early August on the Sir Edward Elgar out of Gloucester down to Sheerness calling in at Slimbridge and then touring up the Severn having overnight stays at various places for wining and dining with a small coach ride up to Bridgnorth and then back to Gloucester to drive back home, we will take two days to go down and two days to come back.

English holiday cruises

We hope to fit another 5 day coach holiday in before or possibly after the cruise as well.

re Gallipoli. Apparently my great-grandad was a prisoner of war at Gallipoli - he survived and came back, but I've never been able to find out anything about the POW. If there's any info on it when you get there ciderman, I would be interested to hear.
