We also went to see Wells Cathedral

The Cathedral clock - a 24 hour clock with phases of the moon. The knights on horseback revolve every quarter of an hour and the little seated man up to the right 'kicks' the bell to sound the quarters.

The Cathedral cat - beautifully colour co=ordinated with the furnishings in the shop.

Paul, excuse my ignorance, but were old churches like this, built before the Reformation, Catholic?

Yes, Torre, ALL churches built before the Reformation were Catholic (as in Roman Catholic) because even the Church of England is a Catholic Church.
