I'm glad you're back and hope you will be well again soon.

Travel has lost its novelty and fun as our ages increase and the paranoia about terrorism increases and the luggage allowance seems to decrease but gets heavier on aged muscles.

But, we still do it again despite our protestations that we won't ever do it again. (Gill says its a bit like childbirth :lol: )

Well, I tell you, I was ready to pack it in awhile ago simply because I'm bored stiff on these resort vacations. I'm such a creature of habit and love being home. The problem was Ron would have to go alone ($$) or find somebody else to room with. So, I was quite surprised when he said the Feb trip was his last.
I'm feeling much better today.

So glad to hear that you are weller, Torre. It's just plain awful to be sick on a vacation, plane or not at home place....much worser than if you are home. There's no place like home. {click-click or snicker-snack}

We are going to Samana, D.R., on Thursday. Last trip, that's all she wrote. The Geezers are mulling over future vacations in Florida where there is no queue-jumping because everybody has a gun. :) There are loads of places to rent there. The Gs would want to go for longer than a week, in that case. Not me.
Arizona would also be a consideration, except it's easier to drive to FL. The Vancouver oldies go to AZ.

Well, none that we know. I just meant geezers in general.

There, and back again, as Bilbo said.
That part of the Domincan (Samana) is lovely and hilly, like Costa Rica. The resort was very nice and there were several British tourists there. Too many Germans and French-Canadians though. I won't start again on my (don't-give-a-rat's-ass-if-they're-prejudiced) views on the only mannerly people being descendants of the British Isles (resort staff excluded, but they have to be nice). When I spoke French to the FCs, they became much more friendly, but it wasn't worth the effort.

Anyway, the female part of our contingent went whale-watching. Boats and my stomach don't get along. They saw several whales, including a baby. I was told the whales were humpbacks, but I'm not positive. I can post a picture of one when I get it.
The gals also went shopping one day (yuk), and a couple did zip-lining. All the regular resort stuff.

And that's it, finito. I'm never leaving home again.

"There's no place like home." John Howard Payne, lyrics from "Home Sweet Home"
