You mean your posh ship didn't have a launderette?? Or a valet?

It had both a laundrette (with ironing room) and a laundry service. :P

We didn't want to spend on rhe laundry service and Gill said she wasn't doing any laundrette work 'cos she was on holiday.

So.................... we are doing it all at home, now.

The 'posh ship' was allegedly on her Maiden Cruise. That's what the advertising blurb said and that is what all the crew and on-board documentation said. The P & O fleet Commodore and Managing Director were both on board singing the praises of the new ship. So we thought we would be in a brand new ship BUT it was obviously an old ship done-up in a hurry. :( .

It turned out to be its 'Maiden Cruise' under the flag of P & O. The ship was about 11 years old and had had three previous names and owners. It was still having work done to it as we cruised and we found several faults with our cabin - as did other paseengers - and these were rectified - more or less - by the on-board team.

The cruise of itself was O K but, apart from the constant packing and unpacking, was just like a coach trip. Into port, quick excursion, back on the boat and away to the next port. It would have been pleasant to have had two or three full days in each port.

We will have to visit them all again - probably on a short break.

Here is one for Ciderman - just to remind him that everything is O K in Lisbon

(and I did give Lisbon your love) :D

PS I've just realised that I've also photographed Gill in this shot. Bottom right corner wearing the white sun hat. :D

That structure looks very precarious on top of that tower!!!
It seems to be an old tower & a modern structure! What is it, Paul?

Paul, you've made me quite nostalgic! Unfortunately the Archealogical Museum , accessed from the rear of the top of that tower was closed for renovations while we were there, so I was unable to see inside. I also missed out on the one day of the year that they close some streets to traffic and open the Roman catacombs under Lisbon to the public.
I'll have to go back! As soon as I win lotto! :)
