We got away for three days last week and went to the Peak District in Derbyshire.

We went to meet our U3A walklers for a six mile walk round the Northern arm of the Ladybower reservoir.

Then we went into Buxton and Gill got involved with a bit of Well Dressing activity. She asked to help for about 30 minutes and was able to finish two number ones.

oh some of my favourite countryside around there! I miss it so much! In our teenage years we used to go camping at Coopers Farm in Edale (at the start of the Pennine Way), hiking around Dove Holes & Mam Tor, went to the well dressing in Eyam and remember days in Bakewell, Ladybower, Buxton. Our milkman brought milk from Chapel-en-le-Frith. Visits to Treak Cliff Cavern, Speedwell Caves around Castleton & the Blue John Mines,..... oh I love that area! I really miss the dry stone walls of Derbyshire. I have never liked the high hedges of Devon countryside.
Paul, to mis-quote Bob Hope, thanks for the memories. :D

What the heck is well dressing (which, you can tell from my avatar, I don't)?

Hmm, I have a vague recollection of the subject coming up before with Carib. I probably asked the same question.
