We've booked a last minute trip to Madeira and leave next Monday for a week. :D

We don't have 'smart' phones that connect to the internet and there are no computers where we are going and so you will have as much peace as we will have

We hope to chill out in the warm and get some Levada walks under our belts.

You never know, there could be photos on our return. :P

Flights booked and confirmed (from Birmingham - our very local airport)

Self catering digs confirmed.

Taxis booked

Passports, health insurance, E111 card all checked and in order.

All we have to do is pack and be at the airport for 6.15AM  which has its advantages because we will be in Madeira for noon.

(I hope there will be no bombs anywhere in 'Made Ira'! :silly: )

No I blooming haven't!

She will have to make do with whatever we can buy there. It is going to be bad enough fitting all of the clothes she wants to take into our two 20kg bags particularly as she takes her own hair dryer, pillow and a miniature memory foam mattress (all the mattresses are to hard for her).   . You've heard the fairy story about the princess and the pea, well Gill can beat the princess at that game!

Oh yes, and her special cushion (it is one with a farting slot in it to ease the pain in her coccyx). She takes this cushion everywhere with her in her home-made double-sided bag so that she can colour co-ordinate with her clothes. . Although she hoes everywhere with this bloody cushion she is always forgetting to take it with her when we move from one place to another and it is muggins who is having to remember it and get chastised if he forgets. Her best effort was to leave one cushion on the boat that took us on a trip round Strasbourg - we never found it and she was sitting on all sorts of things for the remainder of that coach trip. :(

I think I might be allowed room for a pair of pants and a change of shirt.

rant over.

I'm going to look for a travel pillow myself because hotel pillows are either flat or lumpy, or both. I'm thinking about an inflatable one.
