I'm off to the Isle of Wight tomorrow - the first time I've been back in 14 years, since I left to go & live in Coventry! :)

I'll be staying with my friend Jackie & she called me this morning to say we have to go & see this car transporter that has been grounded on a sandbank off Cowes....seems it's turned into quite a tourist attraction!!

Back sometime on Friday, god & the weather willing.

Enjoy your vacation.
There's a rusty hulk of a ship stuck above Niagara Falls. It's been there all my life.

It made the national news because, for some reason which I didn't hear  , it seems to have been beached deliberately. :?

Yes apparently it was! It started lurching to one side just after leaving Southampton & to avoid "risk to crew", they beached it on a sandbank in shallow water! You'd think they could just turn round & go back to port....wouldn't you?! Something a bit smelly here??

They had to keep the shipping lanes open, if you saw the route they take you would understand why.
Somebody is in trouble though for not securing the cargo, it was also beached to save her, they will find a way of re-floating her.

Back again, thank goodness!

Here are the two women I knew best on the island, when I lived there...

...Mary on the left, Jackie on the right.

And here's the notorious grounded ship!

A bit grainy, but it was quite far away from shore! :)

Glad you're back safely :D and that you seemed to have a good time.

Nice photo of your friends and of the grounded ship.

Bit of a nightmare actually - the friend I stayed with lives a rather chaotic lifestyle, and it started to rub off on me!!

Glad you are back safely, and really enjoyed the piccies. I'll be off to visit my half-aunt for a shortie in Los Angeles. At 98, it seems like a good idea...just love her so much. Should be interesting, as we are the dark side of the moon for that family.
