My son, his partner & baby Dylan + myself, are going to Keswick in the Lake District for Xmas yay! :D
We have rented a cottage just about a mile away from Castlerigg standing stones 8) 8) and will drive around exploring the area. We'll take bad weather clothes & even welly boots  and will have a great time.

Any of you going anywhere for Xmas?

Just looked at 'unanswered posts' and this came up first.
Did you have a good time in Keswick Helen? Hope so.
My brother and his wife came to us for Xmas and luckily they managed to get the Friday and Monday off work, so we had a few days to go out and about in Devon - Exeter, Dartmoor, Tavistock, Teignmouth, and a couple of cosy days in front of the fire at home. Then we went to our eldest son in rural Norfolk for New Year, then to Milton Keynes to help our other son move house yesterday. All went well, all good. Altho Xmas feels like it was weeks ago, hope you all had a good one!

My Xmas wasn't really a great one. I have another chest infection & am on antibiotics again.. :(
But the lake district was beautiful in the mist (lots of it!). Family relations got a bit tense though - I think it could have been one day too long.
I should have known that sharing a house with Alvaro & Co was not a good idea! :?

Here I am at the Castlerigg stone circle, putting on a brave face. :)

I hope your chest gets better soon.

Castlerigg circle is good. It is several years since we were there and it always seemed calm - even when there were people there. :D

Christmas is overrated.
Hope the infection is soon gone.

Still got the chest infection despite the anti-Bs. I think 1000mg a day was overkill, as I started to shake & bounce off the walls after 3 days. So I've cut it down to 500mg per day. Still manage to drag my body round the park with Stanley once a day - because I have to.

If Paul can give me any of his amazing remedies for wheezing :P I'd be delighted! Because anti-Bs, cough mixture, & two types of inhalers certainly aren't doing the trick. :( :silly:

Sorry Helen, my anti wheezing remedies are walk slower and sit down often. Above all, take care of yourself - don't run after Stanley

I wonder if the infection could be viral, instead of bacterial? In that case, the antibiotics won't work anyway.

Yep, saw the doc again today & he told me to chuck the anti-Bs. Probably viral.
It really took me a long time to walk to the surgery!! :( It's quite scary when you can't breathe.
I got a new blue inhaler & that seems to be helping.

Not.
Taking Prednisolone (steroid) in the mornings - can't see any relief with that yet either. I wonder how far I have to go before I just turn up at A&E & say HELP?!

I am sorry for you, Helen. I hope your breathing gets better soon without you needing to go to A & E.

Sending healing thoughts. :)

Helen, are you any better? The only remedy I have is for wheezing caused by sinus problems, and I think you are too sick for it to help. It's humming, BTW, if anyone needs it. The vibrations help keep the head clear.

Can you get elderberry tea, Helen? I've seen it cure pneumonias that docs had given up on.
