The machete sailed through no prob, but I forgot to take a picture of it with the gardener. Another suitcase with pocket knives was questioned in Cuba, but let through without opening, by a sympathetic guard who suggested the "blades" must be for fishing, right?

Wow-the TSA folkx made me mail my grandfather's pocketknive to myself for $20 bux!!!! That's amazing!! Glad everyone got their presents and that you had a good time. and that yer back,
love,

I haven't seen any cause I wasn't using HH back then. Maybe you can repost some of your old pics? I would love to see some Cuba.

HOM: All the Cuba pics I posted are still on page 1 of this thread.
I've been through all 150 pictures my husband took this time--not too many you'd be interested in, but I'll see what I can do.

Yes, they really are on page 1, HoM! Except for one, which doesn't open for me, and is just a 'red cross'. :) Looking forward to seeing more though.

Pictures seem to come and go from page 1. They were all there last I checked.

Here's a few photos of the flora, but these islands all look the same.

Lagoon on one side of resort/island.

Ocean on other side.

Gardener tending his herbs and mint for mojitos. :) Not the one who got the machete.

I call this a calliope for lack of a better word. It's partly homemade. There's a paper music sheet feed and it's powered by a guy turning a crank wheel (second poor picture).

Thanks Torre, you must've read my mind
Gorgeous - tho your captions are a bit deprecatory. Especially 'Pool' ! Thought you might have managed a couple of superlatives! (I've never seen a bigger and bluer one).

Love the thatched chalet.

The pics thing is weird. I'm seeing different pics on your post and on topic review. I've never seen any on page 1. I think this forum has a poltergeist  :silly:

HOM, no idea why you can't see the pics on page 1 that everybody else can.
I might have had more to say about the pool if I'd been in it. :) The weather was so cool (look at what the group is wearing) that I was in only once. Course, I've been there before. The pool has no deep end and I love a deep-ended pool.

I can see P1 pics fine too.
HoM what does this mean "I'm seeing different pics on your post and on topic review." what is topic review?... as opposed to seeing the post..where/how? (sorry if I'm being thick  )

I love a no deep end pool. That would have been perfect for me

Topic review is when you're posting a reply and you can scroll all the previous posts at the bottom of the screen.

On my screen this Cuba thread has two pages. The first post on page 1 is Torre on Jan 22nd saying that we've already seen the pictures :? :?

Wish I could see what you guys are seeing!

ah thanks Kathryn, now I understand what 'topic review' is.

I can see 4 pages here, going back to Tue Jan 29, 2008. but you were a member then, so why can't you see them I wonder. How have you got your preferences set up in User Control Panel ?
- Board Preferences - Display Options - Display topics / posts from previous days
mine's on "all topics" & "all posts", is yours set to 6 months or something?

:multi: Yeeeesssss! Thanks so much Lynn. Such a simple solution but I would never have reached it myself as I don't visit that panel much! Thanks for thinking it thru. (There is now a whole lot more to read but hey)

I had thought all pre crash posts had been lost :? Obviously not. Off to look at more Cuba

It was a wild guess, but glad it worked! ye gods, I'm a computer genius today. I also figured out how to connect to a new webhost via ftp. Now I just have to finish designing the website. I'd better do it today while I'm on a roll.

Torre, is that you in pink?

It could be, or it could be that old, fat thing that follows us on holidays. She gets around.
