I've just heard on the news that there's been one of these school shooting incidents where a masked man with a gun goes bonkers....in Helsinki!!! How weird is that??

Well :D got here eventually even though the Nat Express coach was delayed 40 minutes because of an accident on the M6!! Very smooth flight. Then Riitta couldn't remember which car park she'd left her car in  & we wandered around for ages before she found it!!

Lovely day here - I went for a bicycle ride today - first time for 50 years!!! Also had a sauna....Riitta says everything is cured with a cuppa in England...here it's a sauna!! Feel terribly clean now!

More later....

Yup - all Finns have their own sauna! Even in 1 bed flats apparently!

Have just had supper....sausage soup!! Oddly, it was rather tasty. It's 8.05pm here. They go to bed awfully early...around 10pm - I have trouble sleeping at that hour as it's really 8pm for me. :|

We went to lovely coastal town today & I took masses of pics. They have a huge cat called Vilio (for huge, read fat!) & I have lots of pix of him - he's very photogenic! :lol!:

But their internet connection is horribly slow :( and I haven't got the patience...

Probably more tomorrow... :Fade-color

:) Not rain, dear, but.....eek! elk!!

Image

Never actually saw one though :( although Sunday was the first day of official elk hunting & we saw plenty hunters! There are fences along the sides of the roads in elk country, to avoid them accessing the roads & causing accidents.

I didn't get to see any wolf, bear or racoons either, although I spotted one dead racoon on the road.

What there are....red squirrels! 8) Actually got a couple of dodgy snaps (they move so fast) of one in the front garden of the house...

Image If you look very closely, you'll see it there with its little pointy fluffy ears.

And if you look even more closely, there it is up on a branch!
