Haven't a clue

Took a pen to paper
And the darned thing
Wouldn’t work
Have to try a pencil
Oh dear I mustn’t shirk

The words just won’t come
No matter how I try
I’ll leave it till tomorrow
For tomorrow never comes

I lied the pen is fine
And the pencil’s mine
I know nothing about rhyme
I will leave it till another time

Mental Block

I have tried and tried and tried again,
Words won’t come, and I don’t know when
They will start and I can write some verse,
Never mind things could have been worse.
I will try this afternoon if I have a mind,
To get my pen to write verse, of some kind.
I will start from scratch and write a rhyme
One for the nursery if I can find the time.
Not many nursery rhymes have been done,
Will write rhyme, like an educational one
To give children a start in life that is good,
To live a decent way of life that they should.
