This is a poem by none other than Stephen King! I thought the man was only a producer of potboilers. Turns out he's a very talented writer.

We did not ask for this room or this music,
We were invited in,
Therefore
Because the dark surrounds us,
Let us turn our faces to the light.

Let us endure hardship
To be grateful for plenty,
We have been given pain
To be astounded by joy,
We have been given life
To deny death.

We did not ask for this room or this music,
But because we are here
Let us dance.

It's about life in general, I think - being here. However, I don't quite agree about not asking for this room & this music. I think we did.

Just what I was thinking. We designed the room and picked the music. We can go to another room, but it's devilishly difficult.

Absolutely. What is so difficult is it requires a change in mindset, beliefs, attitudes or thoughts.
