Lulu woke me this morning
I heard her clearly


Love is the sound of the universe at work
It's what lights our sky
And darkens our night
What brings us our dreams
And makes us weep

It's the butterfly
Resting for a moment
On a quivering leaf
And the sound of a raindrop
Falling through the air

The aspirations
The inhalations
The desperations
That move us on

The sighs of peace
That make the cosmic food
So delicate so refined so fulfilling
Right up to the last gasp.
