Just a little travelogue of the trip....thank goodness we saved some of the piccies off the chip before misplacing the camera (come home little red diggie cam
)
Sunset at Poipu Beach, Tai Chi time:
Ke'e Beach at the end of the Northern Road. This is the place where you hit the Kalalau trail, which has been promoted to the top 10 hikes and now used for Everest training. Those silly shoes I got worked perfect.
View from the Kalalau trail-replete with vog (volcanic ash and moisture). Kilauea has opened a second vent which points squarely at the other islands. If it wasn't there, you would see the grand Napali mountains which would seem familiar if you'd seen the movie "Jurassic Park," only on the other side:
The view from the condo on Poipu-looking up towards the mountains MAUKA:
Wild chickens are everywhere. When Iniki blew the southern face off of Kauai, the population was released and allowed to just grow naturally. They are everywhere and CGITMS & I happened to be chicken magnets...I kid you not!!! Those guys would surround us and crow. Tourist Haole alert:
Monk Seal on the beach. This was a wonderful blessing. Spect you can speed dial to the photobucket site and see the rest....but I have a warning-silly chickenwoman wearing silly swimsuit with burnt forehead covered by scarf with a Ti leaf under it (did that ever work wonders!!!).
Not a single piccie of CGITMS yet. He was too busy trying to learn how to use the camera.
