Capri was lovely. We had a boat trip round the island looking at the rock formations then we went to Capri town and Anacapri and had a chairlift ride to the top of the mountain. The electric cars/buggies in Anacapri were fascinating.
Herculaneum was very interesting and many of the wall decorations had been left in-situ and had not been removed to the museum, as at Pompeii. Herculaneum is much smaller than Pompeii because they are only able to ecavate about 25% of it. There are those that say Herculaneum is better than Pompeii but I found both extremely interesting as Pompeii, being more or less a whole town, gave a much better display of the layout of the houses, road system, forum, etc.
If I can find the time - because Gill is keeping me very busy - I will try to upload some photos which I have to get off her iPad (It is lighter than my camera and takes better pictures
)
