I will be giving my first one hour-long gong bath next Monday evening.
I've only managed 35 minutes up to now so it shouldn't be too difficult to do a bit more.
Once that is under my belt I will start to look for a venue so that I might be able to do this at least once a month so that I can recover the cost of my gongs (and perhaps buy some more BUT don't tell SWMBO this - she has already made me sell one of my gongs when I bought a new one). I gripe too much, the one I sold was one I didn't really 'warm' to.
So I have my 32" nickle-silver Mars gong, the very shiny stainless steel 24" Om Art Gong, a new 16" bronze Sun-burst gong and the 8.25" Brass dinner gong. Between them they make a jolly good sound (even if I do say it myself
).
They all fit into the large padded gong bag (one inside the other in their own thinner carry bags) and the big stand breaks down so that it fits into the back of our little car and the small stand, which I made myself
folds flat and just fits into the car - but only just, more by luck than judgement.
My neighbour was throwing away a folding metal trestle. I saw it in his skip and asked if I could have it. It needed cleaning, some holes drilled into it and some eye-bolts cut to length and cut open to form hooks and, bingo, a stand for the two smallest gongs. Best of all it was so cheap!
